You can be touched in spirit, touched in the head, touched in the heart, and touched all over. Touch your toes, touch your nose, and get in touch with your feelings. There is touch football and all manner of childhood games including touch (duck/duck/goose, red rover, ring around the rosy, etc.) You can catch a touch of the flu or enjoy a touch of luck. Maybe you have a touch of class or a touch of mink. One of my favorite touches is a hug and today is National Hug Day (really, Wikipedia says so). Hugging can be therapeutic, romantic, holistic, welcoming, and calming. You can be hugged by a bear which seemingly lifts you off your feet or hugged by your great grannie with the slightest of strength. You can be hugged by a parent, a child, a relative, a lover, and a friend. It is an expression of contact that easily crosses ages and genders but not yet time or space. I miss hugs. And if I was with you today, you’d get a great big hug from me!
