Ganache

Lindt is a very popular chocolate name around here and there is even an outlet store with yummy truffles, bars, and covered espresso beans.  Loving dark chocolate, I started on the inexpensive end by purchasing a selection of candy bars over these past several months from Lindt and others to savor different flavors and textures.  Most have been very good and I’ve had a hard time with my self imposed limit of one square per day! Until last week when I decided to buy from one of the hundreds of real chocolate shops.  My sampler box from deNeuville is totally decadent.  You only eat one because you only want one because you want that taste to stay with you as long as possible.  Each piece is a work of art…ganache lait or noir enrobing chocolat noir infused with lime or saffron or ginger or green tea or any number of other pairings.  And some just have delicious and creamy 70% chocolat from different corners of the world.  I know that I will not be buying a chocolate Easter bunny no matter how tempting it is to bite off the ears.  Because now I also know that it will be more tempting to continue sampling from the chocolatiers.  (And on a related note, I’ve tried to explain Peeps to no avail…how would you describe Peeps to someone who doesn’t know marshmallows, marshmallow fluff or crème, or even the concept of Easter candy?)
