I think today’s “theme” is books. (That’s because St. Patrick’s Day is not celebrated here, although in honor of the occasion I ordered green tea at the salon de thé.) I met a friend who introduced me to the public library and I now have a library card. In addition to English books and magazines, there are thousands of cd’s and dvd’s which may work in my computer drive. I am hopeful! On my walk into centre I purchased two book club selections from the English bookstore, Americanah, and Paris. And later I will continue to read The Book Thief, which couldn’t possibly be overstaged by the movie. I also screened Monuments Men, a moving movie which enthuses me to read the story. I have become a film snob and despite the known celebrities on the billing, I thought the acting was weak. But the story. The story is compelling and nearly brought me to tears. That means the book will be even better. But first, I must keep an appointment with my book Expat Taxes Made Easy which is an entirely fictional title and not on my recommended reading list!
